When you come to me for your mortgage, I begin by listening. I want to understand your goals and priorities so I can offer a home loan that’s right for you. You may be a first-time homebuyer or a long-time homeowner. You may be buying an investment property or looking for a renovation loan. I offer a wide range of loan programs, from FHA and VA to conventional and jumbo. You are an individual and my recommendations will respect your unique circumstances.
Communication is key, and sharing information is as important as listening. I will make sure you know what’s happening with your mortgage as it progresses through the process and will be available to answer your questions. I’ll be with you every step of the way, from application to closing and beyond.
Whether you are buying, refinancing, or renovating, I am ready to give you the outstanding home loan experience you deserve.
I’ve been in the mortgage industry for over 25 years, but my path here was anything but traditional. I started my career as a professional wrestler in Dallas before moving into radio as a nationally syndicated talk show host covering sports and pop culture. It was during my time hosting a mortgage radio segment that I was offered an opportunity to enter the mortgage business—and I took the leap.
Today, I serve as both a Loan Officer and Loan Counselor, with a passion for helping people navigate one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives. Whether you’re buying your first home, refinancing to lower your monthly payment, or looking to tap into your home equity, my goal is simple: make the mortgage process as smooth, honest, and rewarding as possible.
I’m proud to be part of Success Lending, in partnership with eXp Realty, which allows me to serve clients across more than 30 states.
I’m based in Lewisville, Texas, and when I’m not helping clients, you’ll probably find me doing something that keeps life interesting. I take my custom Star Wars-themed Dodge Chargers to local car shows and use them to support charitable causes. I also volunteer as a mobile DJ, a graphic artist, follow just about every sport imaginable, and consider myself a BBQ enthusiast who is still very much in training!
And yes, I’m a serious Star Wars collector.
Most importantly, I’m a family man. My wife and I have three amazing kids. One is a Doctor, another is a Percussion Director, and the third is a volleyball coach! We also share our home with four lovable rescue pups: Kona, Kahlua, Athena, and Zeus
At the end of the day, I love what I do because I get to help people accomplish something meaningful. If you’re looking to purchase a home, refinance, or explore your financing options, I’d be honored to be your mortgage resource and help you every step of the way.
I am currently licensed in the following states: AL, AZ, AR, CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, MD, MI, MN, NH, NJ, NM, NC, OH, OK, OR, PA, RI, SD, TN, TX, VA, and WA
Hello, my name is Matt Lake and I live in Canton, GA, which is about 45 minutes north of Atlanta. I started in the mortgage business in 2000 and have closed thousands of loans over the last 2 decades. My experience and expertise allow me to simplify a complex process, explain guidelines thoroughly and structure to close all types of mortgages. One of my goals with every client is to guide them through the process as easily and stress-free as possible. I know the importance of finding a dream home and I believe that a home is one of the foundation blocks for a family. Buying or refinancing a home is an important step for a person or family and I love that I can be a small part to make that a reality.
My family, which includes my wife of 20 years and two teenage boys, loves to camp and explore the country in our RV. I am a Head Coach for the local Georgia Cycling Mountain Bike Team and have coached numerous other youth sports over the years. I am a coffee fanatic and enjoy volunteering in my local community as a motivational speaker. I have had the privilege of being featured at student retreats, fundraisers, FCA gatherings, school functions, and numerous other events.
